Charles W. Palmer

Charlie Palmer has been painting landscapes of the Pacific Northwest for over 35 years. Living in the Spokane area, he currently works with oils on either linen or canvas. No one captures the beauty of our area better than Charlie. He refers to his work as “naturalistic”. Rather than depict scenes too realistically, Charlie “selects aspects of nature that inspire [him] and then turns to inventing colors, spirited brushwork, and organic patterns” to create his masterpieces. His paintings share a duality of viewing. “Up close, one sees seeming unrelated broad brushstrokes but when viewed at a distance, the underlying drawing and hidden use of forms tell a story of a recognizable subject.” Dodson’s is thrilled to share this master’s work.
